Watson’s Fort Shelter Location has been a safe haven to hundreds of children in crisis since it opened in 2000. Over two and a half decades, children have loved the Fort to pieces-literally. In 2024, Watson finished its remodel of the Fort’s interior, completely transforming all the inside spaces of a home that so much of childhood revolves around. However, the most quintessential childhood structure desperately needs some tender, loving care at the Fort: The playground!

We are optimistic that we can secure 100% of funding for this playground project by spring of 2026 and complete construction before the school year ends- meaning that the kids at the Fort will have access to a brand new playground for summer break!

Running a balanced budget as an emergency children’s shelter is always tough, even when large, critical renovations like these come up. We believe, as you do, that kids who have been endured so much deserve a wonderful playground facility. We need your support to make this playground overhaul a reality.
